Canon Rebel t4i

I mean no offence here.. but if you can get better results on Auto, you've been using the other camera wrong.

Unless you're doing a Vlog where you're walking around and such then auto is pretty much a must :')
No, I use cheap, household lighting. t3i doesn't handle that too well. The Canons are pretty noisy in low-light.

The Sony is definitely nicer in that respect, and on auto. Honestly, if I can just do something quick and not think about it and know it will turn out right, there we go. I do chroma key stuff, so if I can expect to get a consistently in focus image that isn't noisy, I'm more than happy.

Outdoors/daylight/practical shooting, I probably would not use auto, might I add. Or in a better lighting situation.

ahh fair enough, I didn't know we where talking about low-lighted situations here :) a little change in the ISO could fix this rather quickly though :) and you wouldn't get any of that auto-focus blur stuff (unless you've already turned that off)

Ok cool, also the guy there said that they're specifically designed for photos and I'd be better off buying a camera that is made specifically for video.

I use mine almost completely for videos only. As you can see from my videos, the results aren't too bad!

I noticed you guys were discussing lighting and things like that. I ended up buying a Jvc camcorder 1080p HD and it has some thing called super low flux which means it works well in low lighted areas too. Anyone heard of that??

Sounds like it's increasing the ISO and noise level to work in low light. While it has that ability, always try to get good lighting if possible. My camera works well in low light too, but I try to avoid it as much as possible since the quality takes a hit.

Yeah I agree, but I thought It was good if I wanted to film like a horror movie styled video at night time to give it that scary effect. With my previous camera if I tried filming in a slightly dim lighted area the quality and image was awful and really dark
