Cannon 600D OR 700D (or alternative)

Not that hard haha, "I have the six hundred D"
But yea, whoever names them is a sadist.
Looool

I think its fine for the hundreds, but for the others its hard to say.
Usually how my convos with old people go.

"What kinda camera you got there kid?"

I have the Canon seventy D.

"The seventeen?"

No the um...the seventy.........................D.

"Boy I don't know what kinda elvish tongue you're speakin..."

*walks away*

Id go with the 700D out of those two, its the model up from mine although I can imagine lens noise being an issue with the kit lens on it as its not one of the STM lenses which are much quieter. I havent been able to try it out for autofocus but @IftiBashir owns the same one. I just manually focus now myself, I have kind of given up all hopes on the autofocus that I would dream of in video :D

You know me better that that Michael - I always go for the expensive option!! lol
I don't have the 700D Im afraid, I have the 70D, which has the smoother camcorder-like AF during video recording ;)

Thats the one, I get the models mixed up, how are you finding the autofocus with it is it any good for your reviews or do you have to touch the screen constantly to refocus etc how about close ups? :D

To be honest I use it in manual mode most of the time for reviews so I have greater control.
Loving the depth of field on it though and the AF is fantastic when I'm shooting video of the kids etc. Certainly don't regret the purchase!

Yes i know but my sis thought of getting the 650d which is also extremely similar but it's just one up from it, might as well get the one up from it, even if it has one or two extra features.

Also, she found out that the 600d/650d was better for photos and the 700d was better for video.

Just remember it is basically identical to the 600D x)

That's not true, they both perform exactly the same video wise. There's no real point in getting a one up version from a camera (say the 650D over the 600D) when there's no change.

See, there is a difference and there is a point in getting the version up. If you have the best now, you won't regret later. You never know how it might give that extra help, even if its a little. Unless you want a camera and extra equipment that is.

Have we persuaded you? :D

No you haven't, sorry :P
Quality is the same, if you're shooting properly, you'll never have to set the ISO very high. I did say it's only really worth it if you need the constant AF.
Also, most of those tests compare photo quality, not video quality (won't argue over that as I don't use my DSLR for photo..heh)
