Cannon 600D OR 700D (or alternative)

Dog Crazy
Hey, so ive been looking at new cameras I kinda settled on a cannon 600d/t3i
But i read it doesn't have auto focus with video which might be a problem and the 700d does and its newer with some better features but not a lot.
I found some second hand ones and there about 80-90 Euro in the difference both come with a 18-55 lens
Im not sure what one to get

Or if i should scrap the idea and get a better, cheaper alternative
All im really looking for is a flip out screen, good auto focus to blurr the background out, nice quality and can take an external microphone

any ideas what to do?
THANKS :wavespin:

Id go with the 700D out of those two, its the model up from mine although I can imagine lens noise being an issue with the kit lens on it as its not one of the STM lenses which are much quieter. I havent been able to try it out for autofocus but @IftiBashir owns the same one. I just manually focus now myself, I have kind of given up all hopes on the autofocus that I would dream of in video :D

Image quality wise, I do believe they both have the exact same sensor, so it would be identical. I'd get the 700D though, for not that much more you have the continus AF for movie mode and a few decent things.

Okay, think ill save up the extra bit more then
Better to spend a little more and not be wanting to upgrade :)

Make sure to save for an alright microphone too, the onboard microphones are terrible :D I use a Rode Videomic, the original version and that works well for me but thats where autofocus could be an issue, if the mic is mounted on top on the camera it can pick up the focusing noise, I bought a few metres of 3.5mm cable which solves that plus you will want the mic close to you any way. You will love the flip screen on them, I cant imagine life without the one on mine although at the moment I am looking into a proper monitor for it.

Firstly, what Michael said regarding audio.
Secondly, you'll honestly be just fine with the 600D. if continual AF in video mode is really important to you, its worth it, otherwise not really :)
(I don't think a touchscreen on a camera is worth much more hehe)

I have the 70D right now and I've gotta say I love it! If you're going to be doing mostly stationary shots, I'd say go for 60D. The autofocus can be a little difficult sometimes, I've noticed it will "flicker" sometimes, not all the times. If you're keeping it on a tripod you can easily just find your focus point and have the background blurred out.

The 70D is different to the 700D :)
A lot more expensive and better quality.

Op...didn't see the other 0...

Who the hell names these cameras, its so hard to talk to people in real life about my camera because they think I have a stuttering problem... xD
Not that hard haha, "I have the six hundred D"
But yea, whoever names them is a sadist.
