Ah, I have no experience what so ever with Photoshop, I have used Gimp since the start of time xD Shows how much I know.
Haha fair enough :) I didnt know about gimp when I started making graphics and editing photos so I did a lot of googling for free software that could do transparent backgrounds and this one was rated by pcworld and stuff like that so I got it :) then my grandpa bought me photoshop cs5 and ever since then I've just upgraded photoshop :)

Cool, would you say Paint.net would be a step backwards from Gimp? Or do you know. Because some day I would like to upgrade as well to photoshop, and if I could learn some tricks that would be cool, but I wouldn't want to switch to down the graphic skills I already have.

Im not sure what gimps capable of or what functions it has I also don't know what paint.net is like as I havent used it in around 3 years all I can remember is it was good with loads of fred plugins and tutorials available which helped me a lot! I would just stick with what you know until you can upgrade to photoshop or whatever :) if it works for what you need, why change?
