Can I Record PC with an El Gato?

Is there a way to record my PC with the El Gato or no? I should just need 2 computers right? Then just HDMI passthrough with the laptop instead of the Xbox right?

no the elgato wont record ur screen but u can Download xsplit and it wll record both ur xbox and your computer screen if u need help on how to get xsplit i have a file i can send u with it[DOUBLEPOST=1387817055,1387817032][/DOUBLEPOST]i also have an Elgato

Ummm....I don't think you can, and its most likely easier for you just to buy a PC recorder.

Yes however the xsplit that is free is actually rather terrible after a certain amount of time.

I normally record with FRAPs or the recorder that comes with my editor Camtasia

i have the paid Xsplit and they say FRAPs is good for PC gameplay recording as to OBS and xsplit wont record pc games

your better off using Fraps and/or DXTory

I don't think you can, just try getting fraps or dxtory, they are good screen recorders

if you have an hdmi output on your video card I don't see why elgato wouldn't work....but yeah honestly I think fraps or something equivalent to that should work better
