Can anyone recommend a quiet keyboard?

Hi. :)

So the keyboard I currently have is a standard cheap noisy thing, and I notice it always picks up in videos, and people always say it's really loud when I'm in Skype calls. Since I've started recording again in the last week or so, I think it's about time I updated my hardware to something more suited to YouTube.

Basically, I don't know what sort of keyboards are the best keyboards for being quiet. I'm trying not to spend too much - maybe about £30 at the most. I've looked on Amazon, and I'm not sure how much to believe the descriptions when they say they're quiet, since the description for the one I already have claims it's quiet. >.>

If anyone could leave any recommendations, I'll check them out. :) Thanks! :D

Chiclet keyboards are always pretty quiet.

I can't recommend any as I use a mechanical keyboard myself with o-rings to dampen the sound.

Ok, thanks. :) I'll just put that as a general term into Amazon and see what it comes up with. If they're normally quiet, then I shouldn't have too much trouble finding something. :)

But there is such thing as a quieter keyboard compared to the one I already have. Besides, the keyboard you linked to is a mechanical keyboard, so I'm pretty sure keyboards can get quieter than that. :p

Although it is a nice keyboard, though. Probably not for me, however.

this is from an old post

@op

i could have named 20 keyboards which i thought were quiet however this is not what you actually needed to hear. i actually went above and beyond and asked you to figure out what was making the noise you so abhor.

in the end you seemed more willing to think i was insulting you then to actually test and see where the noise was coming from. you seemed unwilling to believe that you were any part of the equation. until you test, you can not say for sure. if you did test, you did not list any results.

i could easily have asked again for information or came up with a witty retort but it did not seem worth my time as you would have ignored it anyways.

if you are willing to put forth actual effort then perhaps we can still figure out what is making the noise and make suggestions based on what is discovered.

there is no such thing has a quiet keyboard, understand that you are making the sounds not the computer. never blame the computer.

I am aware I'm making the sounds. I am aware it's not the computer. However, the sounds of my keys on my current keyboard are too loud. All I am looking for is something which is a little quieter when I press the keys.

I think you are missing my point. For example, a laptop keyboard is way quieter than my current keyboard.[DOUBLEPOST=1426212388,1426210391][/DOUBLEPOST]Keyboard issue sorted. Just decided to go for it and get one of the chiclet keyboards that were suggested by Andrew earlier on. Thanks! :D
