Cameras and stuff.

so I have two cameras, a big fancy Sony one and then just a small digital camera which is Nikon, my question is with my Sony camera it'll doesn't auto focus is it my lens or is it to do with my actual camera? As my little Nikon has auto focus and when I try filming it's the best. What cameras do you use?

Yup, we need to know which one it is, Canon usually make it easy to identify what camera it is.

The Sony is an A3500 and the Nikon is a coolpix S3700

One thing about Auto Focus is lighting.. some cameras are more forgiving about this.. So just think about that.. Make sure you have good lighting or add more light when using the Sony and see how that changes things.

To add to what @JohnKenShow said, yes, lighting is a factor. But some camera models don't come with an auto focus while filming. You have to do it prior to recording. The lens does all the focusing stuff, but the auto focus is a feature that the camera itself comes with. Hope this was helpful.
