Camera Question (Canon sx600 hs) Please help I'm Confused!

Hello friends,
I've been shooting my videos on my iPhone 5 but I'm having storage issues and I want a real camera that can shoot 1080p. So since i'm on a budget, I looked up reasonably priced cameras online that can shoot 1080p (and I wanted it to be a Canon to be honest) and I've stumbled upon Canon Powershot sx600 hs. The price I've seen is quite good and fits in my budget well. And I've seen some sample videos of the camera but I'm still not sure. Do any of you use this camera? Is it any good? Should I buy it? And last but not the least: will I get used to not seeing my face while I'm shooting a video? Will it be difficult? (I'm shooting on my iPhone's front cam so I can see my self while I'm shooting my videos right now.) Anyway, thank you so much for your replies in advance. Have an awesome day!

Hello!

Now, I don't own this camera, but I have had a look through the specs and if I had to say, it seems good! For around £130 you are getting full 1080p recording, so that's always a bonus, and it also means your videos will be smooth and have good quality! About the face cam thing, you could look into hooking the camera up to an external display, which could be a possibility (you'll have to look it up) or you could invest a little more or find a different model which has a screen that can pop out and rotate.

But all in all, this camera would probably be sufficient for shooting videos or vlogging, and maybe you could just cope with the screen.

Hope this helps!

Thank you so much for your response! I don't know about the external display thing but I'm sure there are tons of people out there who can shoot their videos without a face display so I think I can get used to it as well :) But I would be interested if you knew any budget cameras like this (preferably canon or idk whatever) that have a flip screen or a front screen. Thanks again! :)

Ill give it a look over, and see if there are any within the -£150 mark.

Glad I could help[DOUBLEPOST=1413831360,1413830746][/DOUBLEPOST]Okay, so just took a very breif look, howevr I found a nice looking camera on Amzon, for just under £150. If you search
Sony CX240E Full HD Camcorder - Black in Amazon, a camcorder will come up just within this price range. Now, if you were planning to take photos, don't buy this camera, as it is specifically designed to record video... However, it offers Full HD recording, a rotating screen and decent optical zoom. Also if you own a tripod (recommended) you will be able to mount the camera onto it to maximise stability.

All in all if you're ony going to video a camcorder is probably the way to go!

Yeah I looked it up and it looks really good, just what I was looking for! Although it's a little bit more expensive here in Turkey, I think I can afford it. Thanks A LOT! :)

Upload to the cloud. Or invest in a device that utilizes external storage. Samsung galaxy s5 + 64gb ad memory = awesome.

Thanks for the suggestion but I already have a phone so I'm just looking to buy a camera. And a new smartphone would also be way over my budget (with the prices in Turkey lol)
