Camcorder Recommendations?

its not all in the resolution it shoots, more in the sensor. You can have 4K footage look terrible.

Let me put this in picture form.

This is from a shoot the other day. The camera on the top left was with a Dragon Censored Red Epic. The one on the bottom right is my Canon ELPH 300HS. Although it's not about resolution this camera kicks butt. And it trashes any camcorder with a similar price tag. I have used camcorders for years then when I moved to digital camera and dslr cameras I quickly realized a huge difference in quality and crispness.

I have no clue dude. I crapped my pants when I got home and went to edit. That was one of the best stills out of the whole day. I actually deleted his footage and used my girlfriends footage from the turd cam instead. Needless to say it's not the camera that makes the film it's the operator. But unfortunately the industry doesn't always think this way. This dude is getting work all the time just because of his camera.

Yea, I know the feel. Big shame when everyone is so focused (including people who should know best) on gear gear gear. Gear is important, but if incorrectly handled...heh

Yeah he came out and worked for me for free so he could be a part of my set... but even so I won't be asking him to come back out unless it is just to donate his camera lol.
