Is Youtube really taking over Cable/Satellite?

What are the pros/cons to each?[DOUBLEPOST=1385108191,1385108136][/DOUBLEPOST]Btw, why can't people post links?

I more think Netflix will be taking over cable/satelite, but it will take a few more years though. At this moment people like having cable, but when i'm older I think I don't pick cable, but go for netflix instead. I rarely watch cable.

I dont have a TV/cable service any more, we are completely reliant on Netflix and YouTube and films for entertainment. It's nice not having to pay for a TV license and the content is more of what we want rather than what is on at the time.

I wouldn't want cable if WWE would show RAW in full online somewhere. Not that chopped up BS that they give with Hulu Plus. We could get PPVs, Smackdown, and the other shows elsewhere online. >_> Hard part of being a fan.

Other than my wrestling shows, I really don't watch anything else on cable. Maybe the odd Family Feud or something like that.

I agree with the others when they say Netflix and services like that will probably overtake cable in the future.

I still have cable, plus netflix, hulu plus and amazon prime. I don't want to wait for the shows I like to watch to come to Netflix/Hulu/DVD (especially things like the live simulcast of Doctor Who this weekend!!). I think someone will be prying my cable remote from my cold dead fingers years from now. LOL

We've had multiple conversations about this topic at college, personally we don't think it is because TV Providers and Broadcasters are constantly upgrading their services with all their on-demand things and people like Channel 4 (4OD) actually upload most of their shows to YouTube with advert breaks in. So TV will not be going out anytime soon because it's still getting lots of use. I don't actually think it will ever completely go.

I wish I could make my own tv channels through content I'm interested in. Such as Youtubers I'm subscribed to, Twitch steams, and TV shows all wrapped up into a super channel would be pretty awesome. Would be nice to watch CI and Discovery with only subject matter I'm interested in as well. The only Con would be that I wouldn't be opening any doors to get interested in anything new but I guess there could be a work around for that.
