Buying YouTube Views

Michael

I Love YTtalk
Many people will come across a YouTube views website at some point during their YouTube experience selling views, likes, dislikes, subscribers and all kinds of YouTube related services, at first they seem great, 500,000 views for only $50, I mean who wouldn't be tempted when getting only 1000 views on a video is near to impossible for a new YouTuber without any experience at all.

It may all sound good but buying views is destructive in many ways to both your channel and the YouTube community as a whole and this article will explain why people buy views, where they come from and why you yourself should never buy YouTube views.

Why People Buy YouTube Views

Most people buy views in order to make their videos appear more popular or to outrank other videos in YouTube searches, whilst having more views can help with the rankings of a video, the user engagement is also taken into account meaning a video receiving views which dont watch the video all the way through will not be ranked as highly as one with the same amount of views but which has been watched all the way through by these viewers rendering such services useless. If they are not sending real people to your videos, there is very little point in buying them.

Where The Views Come From

Most view service websites will tell you they use social media sites such as Facebook to drive the views to your videos, most of them do not use such methods. They are driving traffic to your videos using other methods, the views they generate are not human viewers or human traffic and can be generated using PC software so your views go up but your audience certainly does not grow at all.

Why You Shouldn't Buy YouTube Views

There are a few good reasons why you shouldn't buy YouTube views, firstly, it is against YouTubes Terms of Service and can get your channel and Adsense account banned. Who wants that for their videos they put so much effort into? Treat them with respect! :D

Buying views also is obvious to any real visitors to your videos or channel, when you buy views you are paying for software to visit your videos and nothing more, people can tell when a video has had views paid for it as there will usually be few if any comments and few if any likes or dislikes. This is another way of telling that buying YouTube views are software generated, if 500,000 real people visited a video, surely at least 10 of them would leave a comment or perhaps liked or disliked the video.

Buying YouTube views can really put genuine visitors off you and your videos and they may perceive you as a cheat because buying views is technically cheating your way to the top.

One of the biggest risks though is losing your YouTube and Adsense account. You put all the hard work into making your videos, you should never risk it using such services.

These are all very good reasons why buying YouTube views is not a good idea. I think that the best ways you can get YouTube views is by being active within the YouTube community and by promoting your videos where you can. The more active you are doing these things the more rewards you will reap.

What are your thoughts on buying video views or even other services such as subscribers or likes? Have you had any experience with buying them yourself? Share your thoughts and thanks for reading :)

Loving these articles Michael. They're really helpful :D I think it's a waste of time and money to buy views/subs/likes etc. It's better to get all of these stats legitimately. You've already outlined all the problems and consequences with doing this so there's not much I can say XD

Thanks man, I wrote all of these recently for a website I had created for YouTube help but I decided to close it and focus on YTtalk and repost them all here where they belong :D

cant really comment on this as you have done EVERYTHING. I totally agree with everything and what real purpose is there to cheat youre way to the top.

I would never buy subs or views, because it's just lying to yourself that you're getting populair.
For some reason people think I cheat like that dude from TGN Dutch, because they can't believe some crappy game videos can go viral and get some views.

I never knew such sites existed. It's kinda sad really. I think of youtube like a video game. Lets use World Of Warcraft as an example. You start off as a level 1 noob. You are getting your feet wet, getting a feel for the game. You get your first 10 views and a sub, BAM your level 2. You grind out a few more videos and now have 100 views and 10 subscribers. YES, level 3. After a while the videos become fun to make and you get an understanding how the whole YouTube game is played. You keep uploading and finally you get that "Epic weapon" drop that you have been waiting for, a video that gets 1000 views. After that You are trying to collect as many "epic weapons" as you can. And thats the game of YouTube. It takes a lot of grinding, but once you get that Epic weapon, you are hooked. It took me a year before I finally saw any views that were decent, but I did not cheat and did not "Buy Gold" to get where I am. I did it all by grinding out my videos and am happy to say I can finally buy that epic mount. So great article Michael, I think a lot of people are looking for that quick rush of views and do not understand the long term consequences that come with it.

If you purchase bot views it does not help your channel! Those views will lower your retention as they don't watch the entire video. And youtube is actively seeking out and deleting botted views from your stats!
