But I HATE Twitter!

Hi All,

Do all you guys have Twitter?
I've been on youtube for like 3 weeks now and I've gotten messages asking for my Twitter name, but I don't have one so I added my Instagram and Facebook links to my page to make up for lack of Twitter, but I'm thinking those sites are dying out. I just feel like I'm talking to myself on Twitter, which is ironic because that's exactly what I'm doing while looking into a camera, but somehow it feels more loserish on Twitter.
I don't know. Do you guys think not having a Twitter account will matter in the long run?
 
its a free way to advertise your videos. there is no reason why you should not have one. you can even post directly to twitter from youtube. you don't even have to actually use twitter. just cut and paste your video title into the twitter post, and then add relevant hashtags. and you might increase your viewership. even by a small amount. but its like 10 seconds work to think of a hashtag

i am not a fan of social media. but i have quite enjoyed using twitter. slowly growing my followers over time and now i have a few good chats with my subs. 1 of the golden rules of youtube is to interact with your audience, reply to comments etc. well take it to the next step and interact with them on twitter too :)
 
Personally social media is always evolving and I feel social media sites like Beme, Snapchat, and Tumblr is going to beat previous interfaces of Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

If there was just a way in which all social media was made into one BIG system, it would be perfect.

Yes! I would like that so much better than having 7 different accounts that I have to post the same stuff to![DOUBLEPOST=1467252799,1467252767][/DOUBLEPOST]

Yeah you're right, I guess I'll just suck it up and make one.
 
Yeah Twitter is fine. You can follow people or topics/groups your interested in.
Then you can find groups or hashtags related to your video and post the links there. You can sometimes get a good run of views from the right groups
 
I linked my twitter and YouTube, and now every time someone with a linked Twitter/Youtube account publically likes my video, they tweet their video like at my twitter name. It's kind of like extra promotion with your name attached to things a little more. I think having a Twitter will help in the long run, but I think the initial growing pains are similar to growing a YouTube channel.... =/
