Step 2
A Network contract can be null and void when you are downgraded to Affiliated because the nature of your agreement with your Network changed.
This means you can leave your Network even if you have a lock-in contract, or you can sign a new contract that clearly states your new status as Affiliated.
If your Network is not releasing you, we suggest sending them these firm but fair words:
>>>>
Hello!
Your action of downgrading my channel to Affiliated has adversely affected my ability to monetize my content. Specifically, if I upload a time-sensitive video, it may not be monetizable for hours or days based on YouTube's discretion. As any YouTube content creator can attest to, it is fundamental to be able to upload content on a predictable, timely schedule where monetization is enabled from the moment the video is uploaded.
I find this downgrade highly unacceptable since I understand copyright and my channel is in good standing. Therefore, the conditions of our partnership have indeed changed since I signed your contract as a Managed channel.
Please restore my channel to Managed or unlink it and release all claims to my videos as I consider this adverse affect to my ability to monetize my content as a material breach to the conditions of my partnership with you.
Thank you!

Originally, we suggested sending the following shorter email.
>>>>
Since you downgraded my channel to Affiliated from Managed, the nature of our agreement has changed. That means our contract is null and void, so please unlink my channel and all claims associated with my videos, effective immediately.
<<<<
But YouTubers have been consistently telling us their Network denies them 100% of the time with a biolerplate "we don't agree" response.
If you are denied, we suggest sending another follow-up:
>>>>
Thank you for your response. My understanding is that YouTube created two versions of channels – Managed and Affiliated in order to reduce copyright infringement issues. YouTube then left it up to the Networks as to whom they kept at Managed or Affiliated.
When I joined your Network, I was accepted with the full expectation that I would be treated, for the term of my agreement, as a fully Managed Channel. With this move to Affiliate, you effectively changed the spirit of the Agreement that we signed and in my opinion have not upheld its side of the intent of the Agreement we signed.
If this Network is able to arbitrarily change the spirit of any Agreement how can I, in good conscious, continue to work with an organization that has no intent of standing behind agreements that they have us sign. While I understand legal agreements are meant to govern a relationship, they are also intended to convey how individuals will be treated.
I ask that you do the honorable thing and immediately release me from my agreement. If this is not possible then I ask that you change me back to Managed status as the current status is not acceptable.
If you are unable to do this then I will be submitting my resignation immediately and look forward to the day that I am allowed to leave this network. I will also make sure that all my contacts understand how you operate with the spirit of your agreements.
Thank you.
<<<<
If you are still denied and unhappy, we suggest telling everybody.
Tell your friends, post on Facebook, Twitter and forums, and make videos showing how your Network is holding you hostage against your wishes after they refused to restore you to Managed, and how they do not even acknowledge that they did anything wrong. Of course, say only the truth, do not make things up.
At some point, they may realize the bad publicity is not worth it.
