Windows' settings?

Yeah.

Go to your Start menu (Windows 7), click on "Control Panel", click on "Hardware and Sound".

Next, you look for the "Sound" section, and under that, it should say "Manage audio devices". Click on that and it'll bring up a new window. There you see tabs saying "Playback", "Recording", "Sounds", and "Communications". Click on "Recording" and look for your mic.

Click on "Properties" for that mic, and go to the "Levels" tab. There you can adjust the gain up or down.

Oh... I don't use silly old windows :P

You're entitled to your opinion and I respect that.

One question though: Linux or Mac OS?
Mac all the way! p.s. I used Windows most of my life, all the way up till when I started to really do video production. I don't really have anything against Windows, other than the way it functions, Mac works WAY better for what I need it to do. Now if I was a seriously gamer or something, then I would probably go back to windows :)

Yeah. I can understand that. I will agree that Mac is really good when it comes to video/audio production/editing.
