Blue Snowball or Blue Yeti?

I own the Yeti so I'll give you a quick rundown of why you should pick it!
  • Great quality audio (you can look up some sound reviews on YouTube to see for yourself)
  • Has 4 settings
  • Has a mute button
  • Is a USB Microphone
  • Has a gain control
  • Heavy base, can't knock it over by accident
  • It just looks awesome
The Snowball gets the job done, but if you can put in the extra money buy the Yeti. All Blue mics are amazing though, so work with your budget.

Personally I've got the Blue Snowball, with a pop screen filter on it, the Yeti is a little more costly and as I'm not a huge YouTuber it didn't make sense to get it. I've only recently started using it, as I only got it at Christmas.

I have a Blue Snowball and honestly, it gets the job done. Provides clean, clear audio, I also have a pop filter on it if that makes any difference. Some people are audiophiles and have to have perfect sound and depth to their voices.. I am perfectly content with good, clean audio and it's cheap if you are just starting out.
nice, i just ordered a snowball and it should be coming in the next few days.. is it easy to set up and get the audio sounding good?[DOUBLEPOST=1388960708,1388960673][/DOUBLEPOST]

Yes, very simple. Download Audacity and when you get your mic find the setting on the back that works for you. I personally use setting 2.. but some people use 1 and 3. Very simple to set up, plug in and go honestly. Make sure to buy a pop filter of some kind, you can get one on eBay for about $7-8 USD.
If you want to hear how it sounds.. go to my channel and watch one of my older videos and compare to my newer, there is a very audible difference.

Simple as 1, 2, 3. Plug it in and go.

Here lemme help you out. There a 2 versions of the snowball mic remember that. The blue iCe and the blue snowball. The blue ice is the same as the snowball but it only has 1 mode which is cardioid. Now the blue yeti's audio quality is slightly better than the snowball ( not drastically). The yeti also has more features, which may benefit you. Anyways, if you decide to rule out the blue snowball iCe then get the yeti because its only a 30 dollar difference between the snowball . If you opt to get the snowball ice then go for it. It is a great beginner mic for youtubers. Remember that it only has one mode, being cardioid ( which is a mode most people use anyway) Hope I gave you some info. Peace.

On a budget, Snowball, looking for the best mic and willing to spend like around $200.00, Yeti. Blue Yeti has slightly better quality though, personally I don't have much money so I would go with the Blue Snowball, but if I had the money I'd go with the Yeti. Yeti is well worth the money, or so I have heard. It all depends on how it is edited though, it could make a great mic sound only halfway decent. or only a halfway decent mic sound good. The Yeti is the better of the two with quality but only slightly.

PS: Don't get the Snowball iCE I have heard bad things about it...

The Blue snowball iCE is essentially the blue snowball. Except it stays in the "cardioid" mode. A mode in which most people will use, not all, but most.

I have chosen to get the snowball, but if in a few months i decide to get the yeti, i will.. thanks for all the help guys!
