Biggest Video Disappointments and Surprises

What are your biggest disappointments and biggest pleasant surprises?

My biggest disappointment is my Milk Mixed with Coke Transformation Time Lapse... Some lame a** videos that don't even show the transformation happen have 20 million views, mine has under 5k. This video is in 4K and took over 15 hours to record and a super long time to upload lol.

My Dalmatian's Super Happy Welcome Home is by far not my best video, but it is nearing 200k views so it's a surprisingly popular video for some reason.

Kind of weird, I was making the Milk & Coke video to become my first "viral" video and it isn't even close. The Dalmatian video I just figured I'd record to share with friends & family and suddenly it almost has 200k views. I guess you never know!

So tell us what your flops and surprise power houses are! I'm sure we all have them...

I guess the biggest disappointment is my Kindle Unboxing. It only gathered 109 views since December 30, 2013. Basically I was too late.

My biggest surprise is the first videos I ever uploaded. It is about a wind turbine I build and only ten seconds long but it has 27k views.

My biggest surprise so far has been my "Problems of being bilingual" video, which has about 150 views.

My most disappointing video was my Bean-Boozled challenge which only has 19, but considering how over-done that sort of video is I'm not massively shocked by it

Biggest disappointment: My MLP parody. I figured people would enjoy having a voice acted cartoon again. Combine that with the fandom of MLP (of which myself am a proud part of) and uploading in-between seasons and I thought it'd for sure be a formula for a well-received upload. Alas it sits at about 30,000 views 10 months later. Which isn't horrific but a far cry from what I'd expect a brony animation to get-especially considering the fact that there's MLP parodies a few seconds long pulling in ten times that amount of views. Lol.

Biggest surprise: Lawl, I gotta say the 100,000+ views for a slideshow of unfinished drawings I threw together in under 2 hours. Also tied between my first Ace Attorney parody, and my motion comic where my main OC has pudding poured in her pants. I didn't expect the amount of likes or views doing something so different from my usual would get in either case. Was refreshing because I really want to expand. Alas a sequel to the AA one only has a fraction of the reception of the original-but I'll be patient.

Honorable mentions: My Sherlock parody (now deleted) bombed as hard as any bomb possibly could. Record low under 2k views/11 likes before I put it out of its misery, and my Smash 4 one didn't do much better (a humiliating 2,550 views since August 2014).

YouTube's one fickle beast. Ha.

Quite a few of my videos I made expecting to be popular, and they only got about 30 views at most haha
My what girls think on facebook video has done surprisingly well, someone promoted it on reddit and it went up 30 views overnight and now its on 254 views or something which is pretty amazing
Also my sworkit app review is doing pretty well which shocked me, seems to be constantly getting at least 2-3 views a day which doesn't seem like much but it's currently at 84 views and still growing and only been up a week, the worst part is I do a really short workout at the begginning and now all those people have watched me workout! ahahha

Biggest surprise: A Disney World haul video I made only a couple of months ago. It's about 40 minutes long but already has nearly 11,000 views! I've since learnt that people REALLY love Disney-related hauls.

Biggest disappointment: It's not that much of a disappointment really, but I made a "selfies with strangers" video which took time and courage to do (ha!), and uploaded it around the same time as the haul video, but it has about 500 views to date. That's not bad by any means, but I was hoping it would be a bit more popular and reach at least 1,000.

Damn a 40 minute long video! How long did that take to upload?

Several hours I think ha! The uploading process is never fun... I have a few over 1 hour-long videos on my channel too, mainly from Disney trips and it surprises me that people actually watch them and they have decent retention rates!

Nice! What I do on huge files is upload when I go to sleep, that way I don't tie up the bandwidth while I'm awake
