Biggest Channel Regret?

Starting sooner, also beginning my channel as a generic Minecraft channel, instead of playing games I actually enjoyed.

Wow, I feel a bit emotional from reading about everyone regretting they didn't start sooner.
As you can see I don't have my channel link in my profile, it's because I don't have an official channel yet.
I've been wanting to make videos for like 5/6 years and since May I started taking this thought more seriously. I decided I want to prepare before I can start my channel so since May I have been learning how to edit, frame and shoot videos but what if I started in May? How many videos would I have made? How different would I be/feel?

I keep pushing back the start of my channel. I always find an excuse that "stops" me from starting like; "I don't have a camera", "I'm tired after work" or "I will wait until I move out away from my parents".

Thank for making this thread, it really helped to put things into perspective. :)

Not thinking to try it until recently! When I say that, I don't mean because I might have had more of audience, it's because I've spent years knowing how to cut together video and watching my camcorder gather dust and I've been feeling frustrated at times that I haven't had a reason to use them. It was only earlier this year that I really realised what I could be doing and although my videos aren't Oscar worthy, at least I'm getting to use my camera and do something I love.
As for my channel itself it's still fairly new and although my older videos aren't the best, I wouldn't change them. They're part of my journey and show progress. I can't imagine myself deleting them to film again.

I regret not starting a long time ago.
I regret trolling some youtubers....yes, I used to do that.
I regret not taking more time to learn how to edit.
The list just goes on and on.

I regret all Copyright Strikes that I got, for no matter what reason... And regret that didn't had good quality camera on phone back in 2013 when I first started with tutorial type of videos.

The only thing I regret is my PC rig at the moment.
Other than that I don't regret a thing, sooner or later it doesn't matter.
I am having fun, I get enjoy what I do, and hopefully make people feel good and smile

My only regret: Hesitation...

As in, not started Youtube sooner. Before i started Youtube, I was aspiring to be a solo musical artist, but then got asked to be part of a vocal group, but that went nowhere. That took about a year before I decided that if I want to have a solo career in entertainment of any sorts, I gotta get myself out there! So I performed a bit, wrote some songs, but that still wasn't giving me much exposure, when my sister suggested I check out Youtube (I used to watch Smosh all the time, so I don't even know how I glanced over YT!) So after watching a bit, I've decided to try vlogging and I love doing it now! Same with pranks as well, I used to be hesitant and anxious but in a few hours I'll be uploading my first prank video!

So yeah, hesitation was definitely my biggest regret...from now on, just live by the words of Shia...JUST. DO IT!!!

Probably not starting sooner. I used to love making videos like 8 years ago, but I stopped for a long time. If I had stuck with it I could have grown alongside Youtube.

This^ pretty much. I'm sure it's the same for a lot of people. I wish that I had started a lot sooner, as I could have had a much more established channel by now. But it's better late than never, right?

Alongside starting sooner, I'm sure a lot of people are going to talk about perseverance. A lot of people could be famous or have prominent channels if they didn't give up on making videos. I hope none of us give up on it, though!

few regrets

- Our channel used to be called "YellowTruckTV" and it was mentioned that our name doesn't really make sense. We were able to fix that.
- We wish we could have started sooner.
- Hate when we get too into it. I start looking at stats too much and it kind of ruins the experience. I like doing this for fun, but cannot help but get caught up in the stats and trying to improve.
