BIG YOUTUBERS WERE SMALL ONCE!

I made a similar comment a few posts up, no one seemed to agree with it but it is the truth. People can't expect handouts and get mad when they don't receive them.
It is the truth. It shows the lack of work ethic from a person trying to find an easy way to avoid obstacles that would lengthen the time of your channel's growth. Giving kudos to a channel is cool and all, but I've seen YouTuber's who collaborated with smaller channels, and the smaller channel barely benefited it. It's all about content IMO.

I get what you guys are saying but most big youtubers won't shout you out that's the truth. But why not start with all the little guys and shout each other out on different platforms like fb,Instagram maybe host giveaways or contest get your Name out there. I am still trying to get subscribers and views too do I know how you guys feel.

The main issue is people make a channel and expect big Youtubers to shout them out or dual comm with them. That's like asking a stranger to borrow $100, I can't blame them for not helping out a lot of small channels. I'm not a big Youtuber and don't mind collabing or helping others if I see they actually put work and effort into their channel but most of the time the people begging for shoutouts or dual comms have put little to no work into their channel.
That I agree with. I believe the hard working YouTubers BIG and SMALL should be doing exactly what YOUTUBE was initially set out to do . Allow for a place to create and communicate amongst fellow Youtubers. The main problem with YOUTUBE is as they are becoming sole means of income for some BIG YOUTUBERS it's taken out the fun factor of creating and socializing. Sometimes we need to step back and get back to basics. Or the idea behind it.
Thanks for commenting and sharing your thoughts I appreciate it.[DOUBLEPOST=1347063264,1347063164][/DOUBLEPOST]What I love about YTtalk is it's a community of YOUTUBERS that are serious about what they do on YouTube but they are HAVING FUN and becoming a community vs. a dollar sign!

I don't think I'd want direct help from a bigger youtuber, as in them asking people to sub me. I want subs from people who truly like my videos. However I really just want to befriend a bigger youtuber to ask them HOW they got so popular and to ask for advice. I seriously want to know where they got their views from in the first place.

Great point! I do feel by having a bigger youtuber mention you, IF THEY LIKE YOUR CONTENT, isn't necessarily bad, and could actually draw more subscribers to your channel that would enjoy your content. If that bigger Youtuber never mentioned you might of never gotten noticed by those subscribers. Think of it as, your a small Youtuber, working hard and it shows, and a bigger Youtuber just mentions you or wants to collab with you because of that. I just feel as COMMUNITY within YouTube big or small we are all apart of the same team. I initially thought that was the mission of YOUTUBE. Bringing communities and people together through video.

Hannah Hart is doing a contest right now which I think is pretty cool.
Basically, make a music video out of one of her songs - the winner gets featured on her channel.
A good way to do it, I think.

I have a friend who is really talented with VFX and I find it hard to believe that he isn't big on YouTube. He is on par with TomSka.
I'm hoping one day that a YouTuber (like Crabstickz or Gears) will one day want to do a video with me. But that's a long shot as I'm still quite new to the community.

I'd LOVE to see BIGGER Youtubes Collaborate and Cross Promote the SMALLER Youtubers. Let's FACE it EVERYONE starts at the same place on YOUTUBE and at some point those LARGER YouTubers were small and had an honorable mention from someone BIG that gave them an established position there on YOUTUBE. I think by LARGER Youtubers collaborating with Smaller Hardworking TALENTED SMALLER youtubers it brings HOPE and UNITY for the future of YOUTUBE and it's survival. I'm a small Youtuber but hardworking.

GO COLLABS!

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?

RoyalTee...i think its gonna be hard work for them to collab with u ....unless u can bring something unique to the table.....someone that no one can offer and something that can add value to them.....plus if u give it away for free ...that should offset the fact that u are not bringing any guarantee of views ( ie subs )
with u.

Ah, so then it becomes more of WHAT CAN YOU DO FOR ME vs. NOW THERE GO'S A HARDWORKING TUBER THAT DESERVES AN HONORABLE MENTION or has talent of THAT IT FACTOR., whatever... I am by far saying THEY HAVE TO DO THIS..I'm just saying that YOUTUBERS great and small are all apart of the same community. In the vast atmospher known as YOUTUBE there are a handful of BIG YOUTUBERS and a HANDFUL of small HARDWORKING youtubers, then there's those that do it out of sheer boredom.
So as YOUTUBE becomes more and more saturated with endless numbers of meaningLESS TUBERS the ones that go unnoticed even more are the SMALL HARDWORKING ONES.
Thank god for sites like YTTALK that recognizes every YOUTUBER that cares about their art deserves a shot.

I guarantee that if YOUTUBE wasn't a place where you could monetize your channel there would be more comradery within the YOUTUBE community big and small.
Just stating my opinion.
I appreciate everyone's thoughts on this.[DOUBLEPOST=1347137775,1347137503][/DOUBLEPOST]

Maybe one day they will work with you. Keep up the awesome work and continue focusing on what you want to get out Youtube and your Channel. GOALS! ... There's one thing with being new to YOUTUBE there's another with being small.

Never hurts to reach out to these big dogs every once in a while and say Hey I'd LOVE to collaborate with you. YOU NEVER KNOW!
Just like a musician by the name of Sean Kingston and many others have done. THEY were persistent in their art and BELIEVED in themselves enough that when they reached out to the labels they finally got the labels to believe in them too.

Thanks for your thoughts for sure. I hope one day Crabstickz or Gears will want to do a video with you.[DOUBLEPOST=1347137907][/DOUBLEPOST]

That's an excellent way of doing it! Hannah is awesome. Contests like that give not only the bigger youtuber a chance to gain more followers but it also shows they they might be big but they are grounded and still care about the smaller community. Besides, contest like that weed out the ones that are interested in being serious or not. It also humanizes them more.
Thanks for sharing Allison.
