Indeed, but it seems peculiar that PewDiePie left him behind, once he got millions of subscribers, they've never done a collab video in two years, if my memory is correct.

I'm not saying that they are not friends, I'm saying that it's weird that he doesn't do collab with people that don't have tons of subs like him.[DOUBLEPOST=1453589197,1453588832][/DOUBLEPOST]

I agree with you. I've been on YouTube for a while, only recently began this channel to make videos. I've been 'across this site and back', and I've seen a dozen YouTubers make it big, and some of them sucked in the beginning, which is a reason why I started mine, lol.

Most of them abandon smaller channels, even the ones that helped them grow. And that makes me sad.

Well he and Cry did a couple videos about a month or two ago last I remember (I only follow Cry so I'm not exact on the date). He has collaborated with quite a few smaller people actually (one I remember was a 12k follower Twitch streamer), but the reason he collaborates with other larger channels is mainly because if he collaborated with one small channel, everyone would flock to him. It the idea that if he does it with one person, he has to do it with everyone. Plus most people just collaborate with friends, since he works at Polaris with so many other large Youtubers, they keep in frequent contact. It goes for all people really. You can't judge people for who the chose to collaborate with. You pick your own friends. I collaborate with a lot of channels larger than me (2k+), not because they feel the need to collaborate with small channels, but because they like me and we have become friends. I think that should be the case with every channel. If you get along and find the other persons content good, then you should collaborate. If you base it off of whether they are larger or smaller, then you should rethink your approach.

Bigger YouTubers usually have worked hard to get where they are and when they have a fan base of even over 100,000 it's hard to just respond to everyone.

and honestly it does not matter to me if they don't respond to me or whatever.
I respect most of them for how much they worked to get there.

with smaller youtubers about 80% of them are just douchebags asking for sub4sub and to do collabs.
They are all toxic monster and I hate each one of them.
I just got a private message on YouTube again (which I get like once a day) from a kid asking to do a collab and all he does is minecraft let's plays.

Like did you even see what my channel is about?
no
I hate a lot of people on YouTube because of that.

There are a few smaller YouTubers that I stay in touch with because they treat me like a human being and not just some collab machine.

anyways idk

It just depends I guess

I'm not going to answer this poll simply based on the fact that it's impossible for me to choose one over the other. Both have their merits.

I love being in the SmallTube community; I've met some truly lovely people who have given me great advice, compliments and motivation to create the best content I possibly can. I'm good friends with some of them, and even though I've never met 99% of them IRL due to distance and whatnot, it's like we know each other anyway because we're always interacting with each other's content. I've also found some hidden gems in the depths of SmallTube - many by chance. It's crazy to think I might not have found some of these people had it not been for me clicking on this one thing.

However, there's a reason several YouTubers are "big" - quality. Now, obviously they weren't always good and many SmallTubers have great content too - but if you want the real gold, you have to dig for it. That's why it's so hard to get "huge" on YouTube. I'm not saying I don't appreciate the community we have - but YouTube is a visual platform and you want to watch content that interesting to you. I'm pretty fussy about who I follow - I know some people who are genuinely lovely folks, but I don't find theit content engaging or interesting enough to warrant subscribing to them. And I imagine there are plenty who feel the same way about myself - it's fine. That's just how it is. There are thousands more SmallTubers than YouTube stars, so there's a lot more to work towards.

For the most part, they have good equipment, good experience, good personalities and overall - good content. And that's why people like them. They're consistently producing content that's pleasing to the eyeballs because by this point, they probably know what they're doing. I know several large YouTubers who remain very active in their respective communities and read comments every day - in many cases, they simply get so many that they can't find the time to acknowledge every one because they have editing and recording and writing and general adulting to do.

So, yeah. It's a mixed bag and I love both aspects of it. I don't like to make a p*ssing contest of things like this, as they're both very valuable in their own rights and I wouldn't want to choose just one! If my channel ever took off (unlikely, but dangit, a girl can dream), I would take what I've learned from this community and spread that wisdom to larger communities, too.

Personally, I love watching smaller ones, they just interact more and seem more original, with me, i have no confidence but I do enjoy laughing at a few of my videos, so I REALLY enjoy small youtubers :)
Note to self: Eat more bacon (Sorry, had to, I love bacon..)

That's very true those ppl did work hard to get there and like pewdiepie
Trying to respond to over 41 mil subs is just not posible , and yes most small youtubers are "toxic" or always wanting something that can get/benefit from you But hey most ppl in general are toxic so how much more so are they gonna be on YT/online :/[DOUBLEPOST=1453596717,1453595821][/DOUBLEPOST]

Very awesome answer and yea I found some cool ppl that (I'm picky about who I suequipment) I don't sub but really like the person so I just follow them on twitter and we help each other out on content or moral support and stuff like that. And YT is a growing .. Sorta thing all big youtubers had to start at rock bottom and then work their way to were they are now. so asking if smaller youtubers are better than big youtubers or whatever is not really fair cuz its like blaming the big youtubers Why did u get to popular or smaller youtubers Why don't you have more experience or have experience equipment. (******* contest like ya said) So really we should just be ok with where every our favorite youtubers are at and remember when they were small or look forward to them blowing up on YouTube that's just my opinion doe :p love this subject too very intriguing

Well there are a few big Youtubers that take the time to communicate with his fans and takes much time to make his videos awesome to watch.I prefer smaller youtubers because as you said they have a lot of potential and they take a lot of time to make the video better as possible.I am still in the beginning and it depends on what they are focused on either money or just for fun so yeah for sure the smaler youtubers are better in my opinion. :)

I have around 5-10 big channels I watch all the time.. But I love meeting new people and watching up and comming channels :)

I think it is important to support channels that I think has a potential :)

A mixture of both for me:
Big youtubers usually offer me better content, and I look really foward to them uploading. They also are an inspiration to me.
Smaller youtubers interest me a lot, as I can see how they grow, we can offer eachother feedback and its just nice to sometimes compare myself to other people who make similar videos to me.
