Big size of file after rendering in Sony Vegas

I need help since every time I render video in Sony Vegas it has 1,2 GB of size. I made a comparison and did the same with WIndows Movie Maker receiving 170 MB file.

The only difference in my edition in both programs is the background I use (random wallpaper behind the main video). I tried many settings in Sony Vegas, neither works without dropping quality of the video.

Any suggestions?

Use handbrake (Put 'handbrake.fr' into Google) that's what I use to upload hour + mixes on my main channel 'ThePureVesta'. It compresses files of around 1-3GB down to around 100-500MB. There's also no loss in quality what so ever. :D

Are you using .wmv? I personally use .mp4, but that's mainly because my GoPro footage uses .mp4 so I reckon it's better to keep it in .mp4 format then, I've never had any file size larger than 500 MB with mp4, so wmv might be your bad boy :)

Mp4 is better than wmv. Mp4 is usually encoded in h264. HEVC h265 encodes at the same quality but at half the file size... Good for 4k. Unfortunately encoding can be a bit slow.

MP4 Video & Audio Bitrate Setting? VBR Pass 1 or 2 or CBR?

in vegas pro .wmv bitrate of video is already set default and can't change, just quality and sound bitrate can change.
