Better vlogs?

As a daily vlogger, I know that in general it can be hard to gain an initial audience. You're just a random person showing your life on camera, but who really cares?

What I would like some advice/input on is how to make my vlogs better and more audience friendly. It's easy for me to enjoy my vlogs because it's MY life and I'm living it so I might not catch certain things. Like, I know everything that's going on in the videos because I was there.

Aside from camera/audio equipment (can't afford these things at the moment), what advice would you all give to me for improving my videos?

I look forward to your input, guys! :)

My advice will be to simply add more fun activities and do less talking. It's better if you have your audience entertained with something interesting rather then just seeing you talk for more than a minute.

have fun, people like watching other people have fun, and ima only say this once, "If nothing interesting happens, MAKE THAT s**t UP"

Unfortunately, this style of vlogging is sort of like watching someone else's home videos - they love it because it's a video of them and their memories, while everyone else is bored out of the skull. It's extremely difficult to attract a large audience with this genre. No one is really going to care that today you went and got the mail and then walked to a friend's house where you played video games and then ate pancakes for dinner, you know? You gotta have something to offer that benefits the viewer, whether that's a peek into a lifestyle that is totally different from most people and that most people don't know a lot about, or showing a once in a lifetime experience. That sort of thing.

Good luck!

Even if you cant afford new equipment try to make them the best quality possible. If you have a bad camera than try to work on your lighting to help get a better picture (fancy lights not really required) Also consider buying a cheap mic (You can find one online for like $30). Audio is VERY important and I think people tend to over look it alot but it is vital for vlogging! Go check out Film Riot or Indy Mogul! They do video making tutorials for people with no budget! Well anyways good luck and I hope you have fun :)

You speak really well but try to be slightly more relaxed (more confident) when you are vlogging - especially when you walk outside with the dog. I watched almost the whole of day58 (I just accelerated when there was the song). I think it was good. Just try to tell good, real, interesting stories.

Thanks :) I still have that weird shift from real life to vlogging, like, as soon as I pull the camera out, my attitude and speaking style changes a little. I'm working on it, and trying to spend more time in front of the camera but thanks so much for the advice! I'm glad when other people pick up on these things because it gives me extra motivation to work on them!
