Best way to "power" through it/General Discussion

Hi All,

I've been scrolling through a lot of different YouTube channels over the past month or so, just to get a general idea of how the YouTube community has changed since I last created and joined in, which was quite a long time ago.

What I've seen is, some people with some great content only have 20-40 views on their videos, as well as under 100 subscribers. It seems odd to me, as I don't know if I can continue if I end up being in the same boat, I don't think I will as I've already surpassed my goals and it's only been just under two months.

My questions/things I want to discuss are;
  • Why do you think these users with decent/great content have so little views/subscribers?
  • How do you/people/myself power through it, if we continue to make content and get no views? (I understand we shouldn't make content for views/subs/money, and I'm not whatsoever, but I'm just surprised people keep uploading if this is the case)
  • What are the big "Youtube" goals, once you've hit 100 subscribers, where do you go from there? Just keep creating content you love and hope other people do as well?
  • Where is the best place to market your stuff without being a .. spammer/hoe. I see a lot of people with the whole "OMG NICE VID, WATCH MINE?!", and I never want to resort to that to get my content out there.
  • How do you keep ideas flowing, I'm currently trying to look for an app where I can throw ideas into for later, instead of messaging myself on facebook or texting myself, haha.
Any discussion on these topics will be helpful, I'm just interested. I love making these videos as a hobby/because I've always wanted to do it, but it just seems so hard to communicate with others and get views in this climate. Ether the community is made up of people who just want you to watch their content or it's made up of gamers, who all stick together.

Also, if anyone would like to collab or anything, throw me a message on twitter @Deanishes. I'm keen to start interacting with people who are keen to just make content, like I'm sure a lot of you are.

Alrighty, enough rambling on.

Thanks,
Dean.
