hey guys! not sure if this is in the right thread but i hope it is!

i make gamings videos and i've started focusing on 'funny moments' videos on various games, i need some advice though? what is the best way of recording these? should i just record all the time and watch through the footage later and pick out the funny moments, i have done this for a bit but when i have like 2 hours of footage it takes a lot of time to sort through

whats the best method of doing this?

thanks :)

It is best to just record all the time and pick out the funny bits. May be more time consuming but if your not recording and something funny happens and you don't record it then you missed out some content. :)

hi im not a gaming channel but i make funny videos of kids :) i record them about 2 hours a day to get a decent funny video but then they are easy subjects. I would say record as much as you can and you can sort and edit when you have good bits x

Record at all times. If you notice something funny, stop the recording and start a new recording. The funny bit will be at the end of one of the recordings and much easier to find :D

Yeah, I have no idea since I don't do gaming, but maybe when you start a long gaming session and are recording everything, you can set a stopwatch on your iPhone, and when something funny happens, you can quickly jot down the time in notebook. Then later, when you're editing, you can just skip to those times and edit the funny parts.

Prepare your computer and make sure you have lots of space so that you don't suddenly end up with a full disc drive. On more than one occasion, I'd wanted to record 2 hours worth of gameplay, but ended up recording around 50 minutes only cuz I didn't have enough space. This'll save you alot of time on having to replay and record again. Especially if you're playing a game for the first time and you don't know when the funny moment's gonna come, recording everything would be a good idea. For funny gaming moments, you could do a slow-mo, or repeat the scene a few times. You could also do something like this (I did this for my video): for example, a guy was hanging onto the edge of a cliff, then he loses his grip, screams, and bounces onto the rocks and well.. dies of course. Then a pirate tells her companions next to her, "Did you see that? He bounced!". I repeated the 2 parts where the guy screams and "bounces" and then the pirate saying, "He bounced!" three times. I guess it's more funny, and it also allows viewers to have a good look at the way he bounced without having to go back a few seconds just to get a good look on what happened. (This is a reference to Dragon Age 2 btw).

I think the only thing you can do is just record all the time. Unless you know something funny is going to happen.
