Best vocal recording software for beginner?

Hello all,

I bought a MXL 770 with focusrite Scarlett interface that came with Ableton live lite to record my singing onto Youtube. I am a bit overwhelmed when looking into the software. For now I just want a simple way of recording a vocal, I dont need mixers, effects etc...

Is there an easy way to record with this program or should I try another program?

Please help.. I feel like im wasting all of this equipment.
 
You could use Audacity which is a free audio recorder and editor. It's very simple and has an easy interface to navigate. I think you'll like this if you give it a go :)
 
I use to use their software a long time ago. Is it easy to match up with video for youtube purposes?

I no longer use it myself, but when I didn't find it difficult to sync my audio up with my video.

And no problem :)
 
It depends on the video I'm making to be honest, because most of the videos I've recorded recently have had video of either gameplay or my face through a webcam then I just use OBS (Open Broadcast Software... this is also free and you can record your camera or computer using this). But if I make a video of myself just talking over the video, then I'll probably go back to using Audacity :)
 
I use Reaper. It's more complex but its more robust. There's free trial and it only costs 30 quid or so if you decide to buy.
