The Adobe products are the most transferable to the work place.

You would want to look into Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects.

its easy to use it for pretty much anything, so i use it for everything.

I wouldn't even attempt to use it for everything, I keep all my editing to Premiere Pro and add colour correction and "after" effects using After Effects

I like vegas for its great waveform audio, ease of use, and it is pretty stable on windows 7. When it does crash it usually saves everything when you load it back up!! I hate losing an hour of work! TIP: Most editing software will give you like a month or so for a trial version so I recommend you try out a few and see which one feels better for you. PEACE
