Best Strategy for Video Views?

Hey all,

So I've been popping up a couple videos now, some breaching 100 views.
I advertise my videos a lot at the moment, which is where the majority of the views come from. Now my question is, is it better to readvertise the same video, and so hopefully stack views on it so I get up to the 200 mark or even more? Or do I advertise different videos?

Is there a benefit to having one video with more views, say so it ranks higher in the youtube algorithm, or a better benefit to having many videos with a reasonable number of views?

I would say the best way to get views is by really taking the time to understand how Youtube's own built in search engine works. This can take days or weeks maybe more to fully learn, but it's worth it. Focusing on primarily promoting your videos will just give temporary views unless people are actually sharing it. The moment you stop promoting, the views slow down. Getting your views to rank high is more important as you'll be getting consistent views in the long run.

The most important time to advertise is the first 48 hours when you upload a video. How much watch time, comments, shares, likes/dislikes a new video gets (assuming you have proper titles, tags and descriptions) will determine where it will rank in the searches in the long term. There is nothing wrong with advertising the same video multiple times during that first crucial 48 hours.

The more videos you have ranking high, the more videos of yours will appear in the suggested videos on the right side. This will generate even more traffic for you. So focus on Youtube's SEO.

Brilliant answer to the question put forward.
It's helped clear a few things for us as well. Thanks for that PositivelyBrainwashed.
