Best Promoting Strategies?

Definitely through making friends in communities such as YTtalk, Yeousch Community, the league of youtube gamers, and my favourite theMPDnation. With those friends also comes critique and you'll soon have a thriving base of active subscribers.

It is my impression that if you get another Youtube Creator to follow you, they will eventually stop watching your videos, unless you become friends. So how would you promote yourself to viewers and not in forums dedicated to creators?

Real answer: "it is my impression" that by networking with your new friends you will get an overlap between subscriber bases therefore increasing overall activity on both channels.

Sneak up on people while holding a torch and playing Gangrel's theme song. I bet people would listen to whatever you have to say at that point. In which, you can promote your channel. This method is guaranteed to work. :P

Yeah, I agree with the others when they say collaborations and just making friends on a place like YTtalk is the best way to promote and get more people to see your channel. :)

I know you said other then social media. but i just recently starting doing this and its really helping :p I started actually using google+ To my advantage. Since to my knowledge. not a lot of tubers are using it right now. There's many community's on there FOR promoting your stuff. The only downside is having to delete your posts from the YouTube comment section...because...well...it looks nasty.
ive been wanting to use google+ a little more...I am curious what you do to advertise there :)

For my size, collaborating with anything near my amount gives next to no additional subscribers. I'm at 34, and I've been collaborating with people at 600+ and they don't seem to give anything. And with that speed, I need to collaborate with so many that I can't keep track.

I am collaborating, I do know of that method, I'm just wondering; are there any ways to promote to potential viewers?
