What is the best microphone to use for YouTube as in for sitting infront of the camera talking not singing.

I've heard rode mics are good?

I will be using the canon 700d to film

My budget no more than £100

lol I like how each response put in as much work as the OP asking.

Rockband mic IMO. Or read the mic sticky.

Depends on how much money you are willing to spend. :)
I've never tried any rode mics so I can't help you there, but both the AT2020 (£70), Blue Snowball (£50) and Yeti (£91) are very good (Yeti is better) but again it all depends on how much money you're willing to spend :p

I can't speak for it's attributes compared to better mics, but the blue snowball mic was definitely worth the price here. I got a 7 dollar pop guard as well, and it has eliminated any clipping problems I had before. Give me a week and I'll have a comparison between it and my webcam mic up. It's such an odd shape, though!

Id look at the sticky and see whats there, different mics are suited to different uses, if your videos are vlog style or similar to most beauty videos a Rode Videomic or Rode Videomic Pro would work well and would fit in your budget if youre willing to get the pro second hand. I use the Rode Videomic and edit in Audacity, to get decent audio you usually have to edit it afterwards which has a small learning curve or purchase a very high end mic but you would be looking at a whole lot more. Without editing the Rode Videomic doesnt sound bad though but to get the most out of it I would.

Yeah it's for general beauty type videos

Thanks for your help I didn't realise you then had to edit the audio as well.

Is audacity expensive/ a large software?
