Best Lighting for Videos?

I have just ordered some daylight bulbs, which were recommended to me. Apparantly they give off a sunlight type of light so hopefully they will help.

Thanks for the help everyone. I did some research on the three-point lighting system, and got myself a great lighting set up for my next video :)

So I was wondering how to get the best lighting for videos. As you can see in one of my vids, its really dark, so I have to boost the contrast and brightness up just a little bit. What it also does is lessen the quality just a bit, and I want to achieve the best lighting effects.

Any ideas?

I work for a local cable TV communication company where I shoot little commercial clips for local businesses like restaurants, car dealers, jewelry stores and the like so I might be able to help ya a little. First of all, I did not see your videos but going off your avatar I can tell ya the first step is to remove the back of your chair when doing videos or use a chair that has no backing. The black chair back and the white background will confuse the camera. Second, set up your area so you are directly in front of a white wall. Then find some fluorescent lighting that you can sit on the floor and direct it on the wall just behind you. Then take another fluorescent light and aim it to only one side of your face and yet another aimed directly in front of you. Try not to use any lamp bulbs because they will make everything yellow. If you don't have a lot of money for expensive lighting, look in your garage or storage for a fish tank and yank the lights out of there. Those are the best for what you want to do in such a small area.

Now that you have the proper lighting and after you finish your video you can always play with the saturation, brightness, heat, contrast to get the exact look that you are looking for in edit.

Try to reflect light off the wall in front of wherever you're recording your video, this makes it a lot easier to distribute the light evenly and it looks a lot better.
