Believe Digital Studios MCN

What are this forum's impressions of Believe Digital Studios? I've been approached by one of their people (my first MCN offer!). Currently details are unknown but I will update once I know something. Are they appropriate for a channel like mine (piano lessons)?

I've tried searching for them on this forum but was unsuccessful, so if anyone can direct me towards an older thread that would be great too. Thanks a lot!

This is their website: http://www.believedigitalstudios.com/en/

In reality, just about every MCN is just a company that serves ads on your videos. A few go a bit further by offering the same services a talent agency would-but there's really no networks that will specialize in what you do. Each network is supposed to offer something in exchange for the percentage of your income that they take-so when deciding on a network, you need to weigh your needs vs what they offer and decide if the percentage is fair for what they offer. In this case, I have never heard of Believe and don't know anyone with them, so I can't offer you any guidance other than to say it would probably be better to stick to a more well known network if you go down that path.

Wow, such quick replies. Thank you!

Interesting. I was wondering whether a well-matched MCN would serve ads that are more in line with my current content than what google adsense does. Why on earth would a guy wanting to play piano want to watch an ad about the latest sports car? I'd imagine a music-related ad would be better.

Networks usually sell ads by verticals-categories that help group channels in specific categories, but they don't always match up correctly. In your case, you'd be placed in a music vertical if the network had such a system in place. Verticals aren't always perfect. We are in a rebranded vertical that used to be sports/fitness/nutrition and our channel is about as far as you can get from those three categories.

I've never heard of them, their logo looks like it was drawn by a ten year old (all the curves and symmetry is off and it doesn't look very nice).

According to their stats they're pretty big, but I find that hard to believe since I've never even heard of them..

Edit : The website is also pretty bad :s

I like the way the website and logo look. A little bit of fine tuning would be good but other than that i think there logo and website is good.

Just wanted to update: I've received a reply from the network's representative, Lee Bacon, who basically wrote what they give me and what they want in return:

- Firstly as a premium YouTube partner our videos get premium ads placed on them, generating more revenue per view than those who deal with direct with YouTube.

- Our clients upload direct to our Believe backstage rather than YouTube, allowing us to work on the metadata for each video- analysing tags, titles, descriptions etc. to give each video the best chance of getting discovered.

- We help with channel design- implementing YouTube best practices- to encourage subscribers, meaning our client’s returning audience grows with each new upload

- We troubleshoot any issues clients may have with the YouTube platform and provide them with information to make the most of their channel. YouTube can sometimes be hard to get hold of so we act as an accessible go-between.

- We help seed videos out to appropriate parties to help people discover our clients content.

In return for this service we take 30% of revenue generated on channel.

It's a year long contract.

They apparently have Deep Purple's official channel, as well as several other medium/small sized channels I've never heard of:
Colonel Reyel
Foil arms & Hog
Red24 Management
Ro & Cut
Scorpio Music

It does look like a small operation, since the guy who emailed me also appears as the contact on their official brochure PDF (which I got emailed as well).
