Be thankful for what you got.

Some people think that just because PewDiePie shot up really fast that they will too! they have gotta remember that the best (In my opinion) youtubers smosh took 3 YEARS to get huge publicity!
That's because YouTube didn't get really big for video makers until 2008/2009, it was just a "have fun" thing.

I understand your point but I also understand why people would want more subscribers. I'm happy people want to watch me but with the effort I put into my channel it feels 100 times more rewarding if more people watch what I put out. I appreciate all of my subscribers but it's not a bad thing to want more recognition for something you're proud of.

I appreciate the people that watch me, but I don't ever pretend to be some possession-less monk "Ohmmmm wanting more is evil" either. I want more subs and so does everyone else, what does it matter?

Exactly, you should always be happy that people are watching your stuff in the first place. It's even better that they like it so much that they're willing to subscribe. That's totally awesome, even if it's one person. All of your subs should be cherished, and appreciated, because they didn't have to be there for you, they chose to be there for you.

I value every one of my subscribers and try to do all I can for them. If they comment, I make every effort to give them a good decent lengthed reply as that is indeed what they deserve

I cherish every single view, every single like and every single subscriber. I will always respond to everyone, including those that retweet my videos. I feel truly blessed every time a video of mine is watched, I go red every time someone subscribes.

Thank you to everyone if you are on here that has looked once at my videos, I am truly blessed.

I totally agree I mean when I started youtube I never thought I would get where I am now. I don't have so many subscribers of views but I am thankful that some people actually enjoy my content and they even subscribe to me :)

I'm thankful for the subs that I got but will NEVER be content with the amount. I'm always trying to get more and more subs. I'll be happy for a sec for the amount of subs that I have but then I go back into "more more more" mode.

This may be the key: "Be grateful, however aim for content."
