Hello, and welcome to the wonderful world of YouTube. My name is Professor Oak people call me the YouTube Prof. Now, before we begin. Are you a boy, or a girl?...Great! Let's get started!
Before you start, you'll want to think about what sort of channel you want to make. Think about topics that you enjoy, and the talents you have to offer the world [if all else fails you can make a living flailing at the screen, and screaming like a maniac while playing video games; that hasn't been done!] First, you'll want to create a Google Account, and then sign in on YouTube. Once done, you'll be able to then create a channel page, and give the channel a proper name [unless you feel like simply naming you channel after you, which is perfectly fine.]
When creating the channel, be mindful of a few things when deciding a name. Is the name to long? Is it easy to remember? Will the name be easy to brand? A great channel is hard to forget, and having a catchy/simple name makes it easier when branding! Next, you'll want to create, find templates, or even hire someone to make you a nice banner, avatar, and possibly some thumbnail templates for your videos. Once you have a channel set up, and some basic branding down, let's get to recording!
Attempt to make your first video, an introduction video; it can even be used as a channel trailer if you'd like. Make sure to not dally, and get to the point as to what your channel is about. If there is time after you've said all you can say about your channel, you can discuss other things; though keep the introduction short n' sweet [I'd say no more than a minute or two.] Buffer, it's always good to have a backlog of videos recorded, uploaded, scheduled, properly titles, filled out description, tags, and thumbnailed a few days ahead of time [just in case something comes up, and you aren't able to produce a video, you have a few days to play catch up!]
Lastly, keep in mind that YouTube is about the community, and being a part of that community. No matter if you do gameplays, vlogs, make-up tutorials, or even just talking about dogs. Each of you are vastly talented, and can do amazing things when you put your minds to it, let no one tell you otherwise.
