Music Band Cover Collab (Rock/Alternative Genre)

I am going to criticise your recording... To me it sounds rushed and it doesn't sound like you've spent much time learning the track... The part coming back into the 2nd verse, that really threw me off as it sounded like you were going into the bridge and then threw in a random fill to help yourself get back in time.
I spent 3 years playing gigs and rehearsing with different kinds of people and all kinds of different styles of music so I have high expectations of musicians and will actually speak up.

There is more I could criticise but as people want to have a "different" style of playing, a lot of musicians will reject my opinions... I will say this, less is more and the more you throw in, the bigger the cluster becomes.

It's my rendition of the song - nothing was rushed, played intentionally. Well it's kuroneko's collab so if it's not what you want you can always find another drummer more suited to your tastes. Remember we are not recording at the same time,
listening to each other or discussing how to change things because we are doing this over the Internet so it's not going to be as perfect as it could be.

Recording at the same time doesn't matter...
If I can't follow your "rendition" and it throws me off, then it will inevitably throw others off.
There's also certain elements to the way the original drums were recorded, for instance; the build up on the toms, building up every time before the chorus will be dull and won't give the same effect as being silent and then having it coming in, loud and proud.
Another element is the 2 quaver beat during the verse which in the music video, Hayley claps along with.

I've spent 6 years in music, half of it was spent being a drummer and I've spent all those 6 years listening to other peoples "renditions"... It's all well and good claiming to be "original" but if it's not suited towards the style, others will think the same.

I'm not saying we need another drummer, I'm saying you need to go back and rethink your arrangement of your rendition.
Also, the length of someone's playing doesn't always reflect on their skill... I met a "guitarist" which claimed to of been playing for 11 years and he could barely hold a bar chord.
