Ballpark view to money conversion ratio

I'm new here so I hope this is the right subforum for this.

Just from my experience, what I've come to learn is that you can get a ballpark figure by dividing the amount of views a video or channel has gotten by dividing it by 1000. So thousand views is a single dollar, 10k is 10 dollars, etc.

Just thought I'd share.

Depends on the time of the year, length of the videos, subject matter, where the ads are being viewed, how many views a particular video or channel has, etc.

A long video, in a narrow market, being mostly watched in the US, with a million+ views already can earn significantly more than that.

Conversely, a new, shorter video (less than 1min), being heavily watched in Africa or parts of South America, can earn only pennies.

Granted, the range for most seems to fall between $1 for every 1k-2k views, but even that is a fairly significant spread.
