Bad mouthing other Youtubers

I believe in karma.. if you're putting negative energy into the world, you're attracting negative attention towards yourself. Maybe it'll pay off in the short run, but in the long run you're probably better off being friendly.

One of the best things about being on YouTube are the awesome people that you meet here. If you're turning around and bashing people, then you're going to discourage people from wanting to support you / collab with you / be your friend.

Oh well.
 
I'd quite like everyone to be friends and help each other out if they could. The community is being hit quite hard at the moment with the likes of Jason, Sam & the others so we shouldn't be hating on each other, its bad form
 
I don't think its ever good to bad mouth especially when it makes you look bad.

Is this one of the trappings of YouTube? That ppl who are pretty immature get given a big platform and subscriber base but not the maturity they need to handle such a following?

It's pretty childish. Playing the bad guy is only ok when it's funny and people know you really aren't a bad guy after all, it's just a persona. But again, it has to be funny because then it's almost like a pass. Being downright hateful isn't going to give you any subs except for trolls who won't even fully watch your videos. I find it a bit hilarious that a "Beauty Guru" is bad mouthing other girls for not being as real as her. Make up is a fake mask, there's really nothing real about it because it changes the face entirely from it's natural state. ******* be trippin.

It seems like they're trying to get attention. There are a lot of beauty youtubers that are lovely and genuine and some that aren't. I don't see the point in putting someone down. Everyone's doing their thing.[DOUBLEPOST=1415043503,1415043368][/DOUBLEPOST]

I think professionalism should be used in the community of Youtubers and people should stray away from bad-mouthing other Youtube channels unless it has a touch of humour and such. -Ethan
 
It really depends on the case. If you're bad mouthing a YouTuber for being disgusting like Sam Pepper, then that is perfectly fine as it raises awareness of the disgusting rape culture in the United States. If you're bad mouthing someone to discriminate against them or to publicly humiliate them, then that is wrong.

Yeah, rape is a problem everywhere, but I don't think the U.S. deserves the spotlight. In fact, if there is a culture of rape on YouTube (something I don't agree with--a couple of very bad apples don't define YouTube), then it seems the UK is the place to look at. I don't believe that either.
