Hi guys,

Wasn’t too sure what to name the title.

Basically can someone give me step by step instructions from uploading the videos to the iMac from the DSLR to uploading them to Final Cut Pro.

Do you…

Insert the SD card….

Drag the videos from the SD card onto the desktop?

Open Final Cut Pro

New Project? Or New Event?

Import media?

Import it from the desktop? Or SD card?

I hope that makes sense.

Regards,
Will

Copy the footage from the SD card to your Mac first, wherever you want to store it.

Then open Final Cut and create a new event to import that footage into. Once you've done that you can create a New Project and open the event that holds your new footage.

I think events are just a way of organising different footage into different... well, events! Like if you shot skateboarding footage one day and didn't want that to be mixed up with some footage for a gaming video.

Thank you, so do I import the videos from the SD card, or from where I moved them off my SD card (desktop for example)
