Average Audience Retention

Yeah lets plays are sort of different cus I wanna get like the walkthrough of the game. I have been trying to think of other videos to do that aren't lets plays that would be relevant to my channel. That would probably help my retention if I come up with some other stuff besides lets plays. Things that are quick and fun. I'll figure it out im sure :)

A colab video with Binky on a 'let's play, bahahahaha I would want to develop the characters a bit more before doing a colab, but I could see Binky doing that and being entertaining on a gaming channel, haha... I like it when the gamers have the window of themselves on the screen though cause then you can see them react to the game... makes it more engaging? idk that's just me maybeeeeee......

Yeah I should probably try and do the facecam with things. I wanna do a scary game like that soonish with facecam. Cus I'm a pansy, and seeing me freak out would probably be funny :)

I'm curious what the average percentage for all Let's Plays. Would it detract from the video if some slow parts were cut out?
 
I cut the length of our channel's videos by more than half because of audience retention. We started out with 10-15 min videos. Now we shoot for 6 or under.
 
There are some variables which influences audience retention.
A video length: If you have a shorter vid, the more likely you get higher retention.
Keeping attention: Like @binky VS bunson said; people have short attention span, and if they don't get engaged enough they leave.
Leavers: Some people clicks on vids and just leave for whatever reason, which is has a huge effect, especially for longer vids.

There should be more, but whatever

My average Audience retention is 30%, which is quite terrible for my short vids :D
