Hello! I want to start vlogging! But I really don't know what equiment to use! I posted a similuer question not too long ago...

I need to know how you record good audio?? Do you have an extra mic or do you just use your cameras??
What camera do you use?? And more important, what did you start of with? I don't have too much money! :(

THANKS!

Well in my videos I just use got a webcam a Logitech 525 and it's great the mic is good and it's cheap 60 dollars for us in Australia but probs cheaper for the rest of the world because our tax puts a lot of money on so it could be cheap In denmark

Depends how much vlogging you wanna do,
Id say your best bet might be a compact digital camera
Most have good mics in them and good quality too
Then if you want to upgrade later you can always keep the compact camera for stuff like daily/travel vlogs

I don't have a mic and I'm still using a camera I bought in 2011 for £30 (it was on sale but still). Lighting is important as is content but as long as youre not filming on a potato (or webcam) it should bother people too much. Of course save up for new equipment but if you want to start now, work with what you have :)

If you want to upgrade your audio quality you could try USB mics like Snowball that are around the $50 mark and sync up the audio in an editing program.

If you're serious about it, always go for quality. Get a DSLR Camera and learn how to light and record correctly. Also get a decent mic, probably nothing over 300$ for what you are doing. People always respond more to something that has decent production value.

Yeah, I've heard about that being a good option! :)

Yeah, I was thinking of starting out with something a bit cheaper... Just to see if vlogging is even for me! :)

I don't normally do vlogs. But I do use a GoPro for all my stuff. As for audio, I record into a Zoom H1 with a Giant Squid Audio lav mic (http://www.giantsquidaudiolab.com/gs/gs-mono.html). I got the mic with the angled gold plug. With the Zoom H1, I have the ability to record while walking around and doing stuff. They also work great for sitting at a desk too.

The Zoom H1 is a lot less noisy than recording straight to a computer. The noise floor is so much quieter. For voice over type stuff, I took some 12-guage solid core wire and wrapped it around my pop filter and then I just clip the mic to the wire. It's ghetto looking, but it works well.

The H1 allows me to record in 98kHz/24bit WAV files. It also has a very granular level adjustment. You set it from 1 to all the way to 100 and everything in-between.
