Attracting the wrong audience?

i think thats quite unfair. i checked your channel. 2 of the 3 videos are about vegan food and cooking. i am pretty sure men can be vegans and eat too :)

Right, of course, and I hope they are! I think I didn't explain myself well. I am so happy to have subscribers and viewers of any age, any walk of life, gender, sexual orientation, etc... What happened right after I posted my first video (look book) was I gained a few subscribers that were older men. I checked their pages and saw their subscriptions to channels that were all women who made a very specific type of video (if you know what I mean.) I wasn't trying to upload sexy or provocative content, so I was a little disheartened to see myself grouped with woman who do make that content (which is totally fine, just not my goal.) It's very minor in the scheme of things and probably didn't warrant mentioning as I don't think this will happen in the future.
 
Your channel is still fairly small like my own so it's plausible that those analytics are not really representative of who's watching your content. You see, analytics doesn't tell you how many people are (supposedly) in those age groups it just tells you how many views are in those age groups. It could be that you have one or two older viewers/subscribers who just happen to have watched all your videos and so contribute a larger % to analytics than your other viewers. If you've shown family your videos and your grandparents/relatives for example have the channel, it could be coming from them.

It also might be worth looking at the "Traffic Sources" section of your analytics. Where are these people finding your videos? Maybe one of your videos is tagged with something that older folks are generally searching for - and so they're landing on your videos by mistake. Or maybe your video is in the suggested videos for a video that a lot of older people are watching. There are a lot of possible reasons for having some weird things happen like that in analytics.

Finally it's worth noting that analytics are sometimes accurate but if your audience is typically younger teens etc, a lot of people that age lie about their age on online accounts so that they can access all their content without age restrictions etc, and rather than putting that they're 18 or whatever a lot of them will say they're like 90-100 years old on their profiles. So some of those views may just be people with the wrong age listed in their Google/YouTube account. I was guilty of doing that myself when I was younger, I had lots of my accounts on websites set to say I was 99 years old.

That said, it is also possible that there are some creepier folks watching your content. In fact this is something I think any YouTuber should be aware of. There are weird people everywhere in the world, and the internet is certainly no exception to that rule - so the more people see your channel, the more of those are going to eventually be some weird/creepy/unpleasant folks. The key is just not to worry about or interact with them. If someone creepy comments on your videos, report their comment to YouTube, then delete their comment, and just ignore them.

in all seriousness though. dirty pervs get everywhere. as long as they don't start commenting then just pretend they don't exist and enjoy the ad revenue lol

I`ve watched your first vid, you shouldnt wonder with so many pervs out there, your vids content was kind of provoking them :)
 
Thank for the comments, I'm starting to notice that their either real people or very good spam comments. Anyhow, yes it's now on over 75% 65 + but let's see what the future holds. I did notice however that my newest video gained 120 views in one go although when I went onto the video, they weren't there. Did have sustainably more views than normal, maybe I'm doing something right![DOUBLEPOST=1455870599,1455870383][/DOUBLEPOST]Also, my top external source (and only) is Facebook, which I don't use. Don't know if it's if much use.
