As a viewer, the new algorithm is very good

I've got a yen for being in Japan!
I know there was a lot of panic and many posts about the updated algorithm a few months ago. But from the point of view of watching it's actually very smart and really does know what I'll like.

I don't watch a lot but one thing I do is music videos and since the updates, it's recommended everything I like, nothing I don't. Whereas last year, it just put up whatever without any connection to what I liked or not.
 
I dunno, for me it only seems to recommend videos from channels I frequent and already watched videos, quite rarely do I get something I didn't know existed, so I guess the jury's still out on this one.. I'm curious, is it possible that the new algorithm has not yet rolled out in every region?

Ya surely. It's a good thing for us if someone liked even just one video. They might come back
