Are Youtube and G+ really split

Can i delete my G+ account now? I feel like the transition isnt done yet and you still have to have your G+ account or there will be problems

So far I haven't seen a post from YouTube or Google(+) where they confirmed this.
Maybe you should wait until it's confirmed before you accidentally delete your channel because of it.[DOUBLEPOST=1442785961,1442785915][/DOUBLEPOST](Confirmed as in that it's possible to remove G+ yet, I know that they said that they're working on it and that the updates will happen in the next weeks and months)

It hasn not been done as of yet, there are still working on proper ways to split them.

They just announced that they will be doing, not actions have acted on it yet.
