Are we allowed to use images found in internet searches on videos?

I use google images all the time, but then again I make no money so I don't think it matters

Copyright law always matters, it doesn't depend on whether the violator is making money or not. Also, YouTube's terms of service require that all content be owned by the uploader. You can get a strike, technically. But I have no idea whether that's realistically going to happen unless the content owner makes a complaint, and they'll likely just want a take-down before doing anything drastic.

We've had people using internet images of my daughters without our permission but most of the time it's just fan art, which we are usually okay with. But if they use it in a bad context or in a way that misleads and steals from us, we go after them (usually through their host site) until it's taken down.

As an amateur photographer, one of the worst feelings in the world is when someone steals your work with no credit. I don't have a company backing me that can sort that kind of s**t out, so I'm usually SOL on that.

I'm glad those laws exist.
I completely understand that, the only images I take are generally like a stock colour or a stock images and they are never a focus. I only use royalty free music. I was just trying to be funny, not have a stance. Sorry that it came across in that way

Haha, nah, no offense taken or anything, just offering my perspective. A lot of people just see a bunch of photos on Google and just assume it's fair game to take them for whatever they want. Most people don't consider that a person somewhere had to take that picture at some point for it to exist. Even stock images are taken by photographers, and you're generally supposed to pay to license them, as well. Some people feed their families on gigs like that :)

Honestly, you might as well save me a slice of that humble pie because I've learned a lot in this thread too! ^__^ But now we know, and knowing is half the power! Thanks again everyone.
