Are Smaller Channels working harder, then Big Channels in these days?

I think it is true, the bigger ones are set, so they can upload what they want. Now with smaller channels, we still upload what we want, but sometimes we may have to weigh in on a popular event, in order to be noticed more. The bigger ones do not have to, as they already have 1M, 2M, up to 40M, so they are set, so yeah, smaller YouTubers work harder I think.

I think both parties work equally hard but on different things. Smaller channels focus on gaining viewers, improving their abilities and trying to find things people find enjoyable. But the bigger ones try to upgrade their setup and quality, as well as work to keep their viewers happy with the stuff they want to see. Bigger ones try to use the stuff they already have and make it better. They dont usually have the freedom that the smaller ones have to experiment with their content, because they have gained their following through specific type of content and have to usually stick with it.

Good answer :D

I would say its not a general rule, but I do see it often.
some of the big channels also have their work spread out amongst colleagues and others, so they dont have to actually put as much of their time and effort in.
I certainly feel appreciation for small channels that have clearly spent a lot of time and effort on their video's, because it shows they care about each subscriber just as much now, than if they were a 1M sub channel

Personally, I don't know the answer to this question. I don't have a big channel, but I have been on YT for several years.

I feel, however, that smaller channels do have to work much more, at least when it comes to getting attention for their uploads. As for the laziness factor, that's bound to happen to anyone with enough power, but I believe some effort is still necessary to maintain an audience if you have one.

I think they have to work differently. Small channels have to hustle. We have to look for ways to get our videos out there, come up with ideas that will bring in new subscribers, find innovative ways of filming on a budget, around regular work schedules, etc.

Big channels often have a lot of other things going on, opportunities that come up because of the channel. So they're doing things with agents or publicists, working contacts, upgrading equipment, dealing with copyright, etc.

We're all working hard, I think.

Like others have said, it's not necessarily about small channels working hard and big channels not doing so, but instead it's about how they work. Smaller channels, by and large, will be run by a smaller group of people, most of the time a single person and sometimes couples or whatnot. When you're in this kind of environment you have to become a jack of all trades and do your best at every step along the film making process, from conception to Youtube upload and SEO optimazation.

Again, generally, larger channels will have more people working on them, so the personality of the channel doesn't necessarily do every bit of work including editing, sound effects and foley, or any other step. Does this mean that the larger channel peeps don't work as hard? Not necessarily. Although each person probably has a more specialized role, the onus is also on that person to create stellar content in the role that they are providing. There is a lot more pressure, and in many cases there is a standard of content that has to be lived up to that is very high.

Anyways, I think small Youtubers might work harder in many ways, or like Xingcat said, they have to "hustle". But at the same time, the larger channels have pressures, expectations, and deadlines that I can imagine are tough when you have to force your creative process along at an accelerated pace. In conclusion, there's no way to really tell who works harder, all you can do is work your hardest, work your smartest, and eventually it should be noticed.

I would say that the bigger channels work harder. At least some of them and it isn't based on the work ethic of smaller channels but time itself. If any smaller channel started to earn a living from YouTube then they would be able to spend much more time on their channel and work even harder then they do now.

I agree that smaller channels have to hustle. I think bigger channels can get away with sneaking in a couple of inferior videos. Ive seem some channels that upload very frequently almost every day. It cant all be gold.
