Are Playlist Descriptions Important?

I personally have added them. Just so people can get a feel for what a certain playlist is all about. I try to be a very organized person, because not only does it make things easier for me, but I personally feel that it looks nicer.
I like the playlist descriptions. Do you?

It should at least sum up what they can find in the playlist. No more, no less.

Just keep this in mind. Everything you do, and don't do is important. The choice is for you to decide what's best for your channel. As long as you do what makes you happy, and that you enjoy, other's will cling to that, and you'll be set.
 
I feel like I read somewhere that a playlist description is used in part of YouTube's search algorithm too but don't take my word for it.
 
as long as you just give a quick sum up of what's in there, I'm sure that'll be good enough since each vid has it's own personalized description. It'll help give a general sense of what to expect.
