Are my 1080 Videos supposed to be this big? 4gb=5min Need Help

16mins of 20 bit rate fc3 is about 2.2 gigs for me. you're probably setting something too high. i hate handbreak too. actually increased my file size and made the video look crappy (probably used it wrong though hehe)

Full 1080p video, around 20mins long, is about 2.6GB for me. I let FCPX do all the work, just select the option to share to YouTube once I'm finished with my project and let it get on with the rest!

Note to OP - what software are you currently using for creating/rendering your videos? Its probably just your render settings that need tweaking......

That is abnormally large. Either the bit rate is extremely high, which YouTube throttles down anyways, or the codec file type is uncompressed.

Like others above, my h264 coded .mp4, at 10 minutes is only around 2gigs at 1080p.

4 gb for 5 min? that is small lol.

When I record at 720p, it is 4min = 4 gb.
When I record at 1080p, it is 1 min and 30 = 4 gb.

Because of the huge size, I just record at 720p =|. I record with fraps so I only get raws.

i use final cut pro x or i can use imovie.. but i found out what was wrong, i have to put h.264 options. i had just stuck with the same as my camera settings which were huge..

i have a sony cybershot dsc-wx50, im going to try to chnge camera setting to 720p if i can

You should have like 2-2.5 gb for a 15-16 min video in 1080p. You should check your rendering settings again, stuffs that were good for 720p, are not necessarily needed for 1080p, since it is a much better quality anyway.

720 is absolutely perfect imo, 1080 is too much space, also takes quite a while to load and people dont particularly like that! Try 720, it looks great and its small in size and quite to load! If you want examples of 720, all my videos are 720!

Are you uploading it raw directly from the camera? Because you should run it through a program like Sony Vegas, as long as you put the settings right, it'll keep the quality but reduce the size massively (Probably from 4GB to 1.2GB)

Try lowering the bitrate of your video. Also, if you're not already doing so, consider rendering to H2.64 MP4.
