Are microphones a big factor

Hey guy i was just thinking in most videos or streams whatever the case may be do you need to have microphones or do some people enjoy live streams without the streamer talking.
 
I think the best thing is to have a mic. You don't have to use webcam, but mic is the way to go. I wouldn't watch a live stream without talking. But hey, maybe it's just my opinion =)
 
You can buy an excelent mic for 20$ Boya BY-M1 which works both with smartphone and DSLR so there is no excuse now for bad sound :) You can check the review on my channel for that mic. It is really awesome performing like some much more expensive mics. And the best thing is if you film now with a smartphone, then you can easily plug it in into DSLR when you upgrade to DSLR.
 
I think it is important to talk in gaming video's. Otherwise it is just gameplay, which is only interesting for a niche of people. If you are entertaining to listen at and maybe even explain a bit what you are doing and why (strategy), it might even be interesting for people who don't know/play the game itself (:
 
Yes. I think talking is important. Of course , don't buy the most expensive microphone . As UnboxingSve said,you can get an amazing microphone for 20$. It really doesn't have to be top quality , especially if you are a starting channel. Hope I helped ! :)
 
If you can afford it, good mics are a huge improvement, but if your content is entertaining, most people will watch no matter what
 
I've done a little bit of research, and here's what I've noticed. (Just off of watching a few dozen streams, with and without mics)

(OPINION ALERT: This post contains an OPINION, not a FACT.)

People tend to lean towards streamers with microphones, because they are (sometimes) capable of interacting with the streamer, and vise versa. Just a small little observation, and is not 100% supported. Just something I managed to notice while watching a few streams myself.
 
I think if you're streaming then it is very important to have a microphone. The purpose of streaming is to interact with the people in your chat and you can't do that unless you have a microphone.
