Are inactive subs really that bad?

Its the balance..especially now with Youtube Red coming into play and how they will start paying creators. You can have a lot of subs, but if your views don't match then it is not really helpful in the long run. But like others have said you will get a number of inactive subs. Just keep pushing forward and that ratio shrinks to more active then inactive so while not a bad thing you don't want your whole base being inactive because then no one will be watching.

Hey bro!

I understand what you are saying, but in reality the bigger you get those inactive subs do hinder progress, but it depends on how big your active audience is, how far along you are into making videos e.t.c for me personally id rather someone usubscribe, as the whole point of subscribing to a channel is that every once in a while you give them a watch :)

Most people subscribe and watch YouTube videos occasionally. It's usually not everyday; a lot of people I know do watch YouTube but they have a lot of stuff to do.
You are 100 percent right. I agree with you about this situation.[DOUBLEPOST=1447855581,1447855530][/DOUBLEPOST]Some times this users need for channel to view video or Increase subscribe.

I think for you as a creator, probably it isn't that bad, but for you as a "business," I guess (for lack of a better way of thinking about it), they're of no use to you. Inactive subscribers don't watch, they don't click on things, and if you're interested in getting sponsorship or joining a network, they'll think of those as less-than-not-being-there, from what I understand (just above buying subs). So if you're making YouTube videos for fun, then they're just there, but if you're trying to build a brand, they can be more harm than good.

Are inactive subs also deleted accounts?
No, deleted accounts are removed from the list and subscriber account. If you check your analytics, sometimes when you lose a subscriber Google will tell you that they deleted their account and that's why.

Inactive subs are still important... Just for others visitors to know that people like your channel. Even when they are not "active "

I think the only way you will have a lot of active subscribers, is when you have a very unique channel for a specific group who are only focused on the stuff you upload.

I don't think they're damaging and you can't even say with certainty that they're inactive. If only 10% watch your videos, it may be a different 10% every time.

Yes, as sad as it is, some people will only check out a channel if it already has lots of subs. They'll check out the store that's full of people even if those people only came to use the toilet... what?! :D
