Are inactive subs really that bad?

I Love YTtalk
I have heard many times that inactive subs are really bad for a channel, but i'm starting to wonder if they really are. A inactive sub is baisically the same as somebody who has just watched a video u have posted, and then doesn't come back to the channel again. I dno about u guys but i still value that single view, so i dno why people don't value a subscriber who doesn't watch most of ur videos? All big youtubers have loads of inactive subs, for example: PewDiePie has 40 mil subs, but gets on average 3 million views for each video so just look at how many inactive subs that is! KSI has 11 mil subs and gets 2-3 mil views a video, so he has many inactive subs too... I just don't see why small youtubers look at inactive subs like they are the worst thing in the world, and i bet if most of you look at the amount of views you get from unsubscribed people you will be kind of shocked :) I understand that inactive subs don't really benefit a channel, but they don't exactly damage it

I honestly hardly look at sub count. Subs mean nothing if they don't watch videos and flipping it around, there are plenty of people who watch videos without ever subbing. I have 1270 somewhat subs. Some videos get tons of views, others get barely any. Views and likes matter much more to me than sub count ever will.

I'm not sure they are bad and damaging, its just probably better to see a good ratio from subs to views, I know I can't talk I have 111 subs and about 6 views per video.

I wouldn't say they were damaging to the channel, as @Lrulesok said. I suppose it would look a lot better if your views were closer in number to your subscriber count. The way I see it, anything above your subscriber count looks pretty credible.

But 70% of my views come from non-subscribed folks, so it's not something that worries me too much. I'm much more concerned about the level of engagement on my content, as I value my community much more!

Majorit of my views are from unsubbed people like 75% of my views, 25% is from my subs. I'm just happy I have subs, some are more active and engaged then others but I had years where I would binge watch videos for a few months then not look at YouTube again for 12-18 months.

Some of my subs only watch specific videos I make and not all of them so I'm ok with that, I'm ok if they want to sub and don't watch. I'm just happy I get views regardless of who gives them.

Don't worry about it... Just 10% (if that) of your views come from subscribers. People usually subscribe to a channel as to "like" the channel. It does not mean they have the time to watch all your content (not to mention the will).

It's just a bad look if people go to your channel and all your videos have super low views but you have a high sub count. Makes it look like you faked your sub count or something. It won't actually affect your channel.

The longer you have a channel, the more inactive subs you'll have. Just a fact of life. As you've pointed out, most of the so-called biggest YouTubers have far more subs than the views they'll get on a typical video. Certain channel types are better at accumulating subs than views. I'll take the views, that's what pays the rent.
