Are graphics key to good editing?

by graphics are you referring to the titlecards in between the inventions/the titles at the bottom part of the screen?
If so, then yes, I think it adds a lot to the overall presentation. The minecraft pixel-y theme is apparent in those graphics, which tie them in nicely with the video itself.
As for the video editing, I don't think he did anything you couldn't do yourself. :]
Thanks a lot Bryant! D'you think its worth me taking some extra time to do some graphics like that then?

looks quite alright. yes graphics do matter, if you have a crappy flash animation with a framerate of like 5 it isnt as fun to watch now is it?
those bookmarks are definetly a good idea to make use of. music is one half of the videos quallity! if you have bad quallity music with all kinds of annoying stutterings in it i can assure you people will leave the video, of course the quallity of the music isnt all, also the timing. a emotional lullaby wont quite fit in a epic battle huh?

so yes, the visuals as well as sounds matter a lot.

Yes. What I would do is layout the structure for your vids. From there, you can develop what kinds of graphics you want (titlecards, headers, etc.).
Then you can save it in photoshop, and save the rendered version in your video editor.
Position the graphic.
Then, all you have to do is copy and paste the graphic into whatever section of the video it's needed.
That's my typical workflow for FinalCutProX. Makes things so much faster if you lay out the ground work ahead of time :]

Yeah I might do that, I just need to find a good recognisable style that fits nicely. I'm tempted to even start delving into animated lower thirds, etc... Thanks for the advice though!
