Most of those gamers play the same games, mainly call of duty and minecraft O.O and it looks like if all gamers played the sam e games when they don't. But anyways yeah I think that there are more famous channels that are run by gamers than by any other kind of youtubers.

There are a lot of gaming channels, for sure, but from most i've seen recently, its more about the personalities behind the channel. They are the channels that stick around. I have two channels, one is full of original content pertaining to music, art and animation, and then I have A+Start, where we play tons of games. A+Start is easier to make, as most game videos are. Box Robot Studios on the other hand, i don't post for weeks at a time. My point being, game videos are easy to make, but quality is lacking in most. If you don't make good content then, yes unfortunately, you are wasting your time. A+Start set out to make really entertaining episodes with at least 3 different games a week. And we've stuck by that for 5 months. We love the feedback and people enjoy our videos. So to me, it's a labour of love and not a waste of time. But it's about the content. That's my opinion :)

I enjoy making gaming videos with a passion, I do think they're sometimes entertaining, my 100 subscribers seem to think so. Not to mention I want to make YouTube a career for me, so no, I don't think I'm wasting my time.

And before you say "I just want my fame and money" this is simply not true. It would be nice, but it's not necessary to make a living off YouTube. My goal isn't to get millions of fans or to make hundreds of thousands of dollars off my videos. My goal is just to make entertaining high quality videos that my viewers enjoy.

Also I agree with the over saturation of Minecraft and CoD videos. I only have like 2 minecraft videos on my channel, but my channel has a huge variety of games, so this Panda can stand out better :)

The fact is that most gaming videos are generic, especially when people under 18 are doing it. There's that as well as oversaturation and not being smart about it. I'd say even a 5 minute long video is pushing it without a decent sized audience.

I do cod video's but mine are mainly trolling videos so I think that makes me different, at least from the 100000 commentators. But it's all down to doing what you enjoy, every mine craft or cod video is different no matter how many millions of videos are out there, because every person who makes those video's are different[DOUBLEPOST=1376748242,1376748025][/DOUBLEPOST]
That's not always true. Most people make gaming videos because that's what a majority of our youth these days do.

Exactly. I started uploading game plays of a fairly unknowns game to youtube before I even knew you could make money out of it. Just fun and sharing your gaming moments and stories with friends, , youtube can be a hobby for a lot of people, not a potential job.

Personally, I've thought about making a gaming channel myself. I mean, I like playing them anyway and I just talk to my television. Might as well talk to an audience right? That's kind of how I see it.

"Call of Duty" and "Minecraft" do seem overrun. I see videos for them all the time, and never search for them. (Of course, I do watch other gaming videos.) There does seem to be a lot of people thinking "I'm going to make tons of money playing Call of Duty." That's just not realistic with the HUGE amount of people playing. If you are truly ENJOYING it though well go ahead, because it's fun for you.

My channel is somewhat unique because only a few channels do Dooming with game mods but fewer mix it up with actual LPs.

I can agree to an extent that I am sick of seeing Call of Duty or Minecraft exclusive channels. It is like the MOBA craze the industry is getting into, becoming oversaturated with the genre when most people will just play LoL or DOTA2.
